A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

Tuesday

A little late on the update, but oh well. Tuesday was pretty fun. I went with Greg to Sacramento to meet up with some friends/coworkers of his in order to go shopping. Got to Greg's around 10:00 am, the same fucking time he got in the shower, so I had to call and knock on his window for like 10 minutes. Petey heard me, but he didn't do shit. Thanks enu. We left around 11:30 to pick Denice, Greg's friend/coworker, and then headed to Sac. We met up Cassandra [Cassey] and her friend Tuay. We had a good time all day, just hungout while visiting homes/apartments and then eating lunch and going shopping at Urban Outfitters and the Arden Fair Mall. Had a few good laughs too including white gummi, getting lost in the car, Cassey the master of secrets [roads and food], drifto, and camera fun. Left around 6:00 pm and then met up with Marshell and Patrick after dropping off Denice. I called it an early night in order to prepare for my last final on the following Wednesday. Now I am done and it tis freedom!

Wednesday

Yesterday was pretty cool. Did the usual, chilled at Patrick's all day where we were able to come up with a new jam for the band. The new project, codename: Paintstick, is in development. Patrick came up with nice little chord melody; a good start for the song. We were able to figure out a basic structure and verse melodies on both guitar, vocals, and somewhat drums. The idea is really cool and gives a very eerie feel with the guitar parts in the verse. Can't wait to finish it. I also came up with some lyrics for a chorus, so we'll see how it works out.

Today it seems to be X-Mas shopping with the brahs. Its now 5 days!! Shit, so quick! Must buy presents!

Friday

On Friday I was able to finish up my History 17 final between 10:30 and 12:30. It wasn't too bad, I just hope I pass the class so I get my credits. I try not to dwell or worry.

After the final I got Imperial for lunch [5th time in a row] and headed to Greg's. Hungout all day until eventually Marshell and Patrick had to work. Knocked out a little X-Mas shopping and hit up In and Out with G-reg. After we went to the mall with Taylor and Allyson. Nobody bought anything...lol

Later that night Richard, Patrick, Marshell, Taylor, Allyson, Greg and I went to watch I Am Legend at Brenden around 10:55. Pretty awesome movie, kinda sad and depressing, but pretty good. If anything I liked Will Smith's acting. He was able to pull off so many scenes in which he is the ONLY character on screen. His acting skills are real good, including his other latest film The Pursuit of Happyness. He's been kicking ass on film lately, and this is the guy that started out as the The Fresh Prince.

BEST PART OF THE MOVIE: The Dark Knight Trailer!!!
All I can say is fuck. Even Taylor thought it looked fuckin' amazing and has finally realized what I've been saying for the past year. The film will not dissapoint. I cannot fucking wait. My favorite scene from the trailer was when the Joker stands in the middle of an abandoned Gotham City road as the Batman zips right by him on the Bat-cycle and busting a power slide in order to jump off and dual with his arch-nemesis. Amazing sequence. Favorite creepy moment was when the Joker was in jail and everyone in the law enforcement office are staring at him behind bars. He smirks.
FUCKING SICK. ANTICIPATION. HYPED. JULY 18 2008.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD CONCERT

THE WARFIELD
-Avenged Sevenfold-
-Black Tide-
-The Confession-
-Operator-
12/10 @ 7:30 pm

FUCKING SICK!
The A7X set was an incredible show injected with straight adrenaline and excitement from start to finish. Greg, Marshell, Patrick and I arrived at The Warfield in San Francisco around 5:00 pm after parking down the street in the Metreon parking garage. The line up wasn't bad at all when we got there, but did however gradually built up. While waiting we had great lolz... 1) you guys want some sheeurtz? 2) HUUHHGGHH...*phhhrr* 3) You guyz sellin' tickets?? i don't care whose playing!

Doors opened around a little after 6:30 where we waited at the stage for the opening acts. Greg and I scored some A7X sheeurtz and bandananas for $40 and by doing so ended up separated from Pat and Marsh in "mosh zone."

Avenged doesn't need this many opening acts:
1) Black Tide - Surprisingly Sick! Lead singer is only 15 and band has a younger Metallica feel to their music. I like "Warriors of Time" and will probably support them in the future.
2) The Confession - eh. To busy avoiding moshing to listen.
3) Operator - don't care anymore, need A7. Lead singer looked like a blond Shadows wannabe. Lame ass act.

10:30 marked chaos when the lights went out and the restless and eager crowd roared. Pushing and shoving, sweat and odors, and rocking and rolling everywhere. The set included:
Critical Acclaim
Remenissions
Beast And The Harlot
Almost Easy
I Won't See You Tonight Pt.1
Afterlife
Burn It Down
Scream
Bat Country
Seize The Day
Unholy Confessions

Incredible time with the homies. Incredible show. Incredible guitar solos. Incredible live sound. Incredible band.
Avenged Sevenfold.
Heroes.

Friday Night

Friday [11-30]

Good shit.

First, I got my research paper back in English and got a 90/100! Fuck Yea!

Second, Imperial ("same old same old?" *nodd*)

Third, DAT production. Continued work on our dual guitar oriented track. Pat, Greg, and I managed to lay down some guitar riffs and bass lines. Still work to be done, but progress nonetheless! Exciting times!

Fourth, Urban Outfitters. Scored me a new flannel shirt for $47. Expensive however I love the store and the style of clothing it offers, blue long sleeve shirt that is super comfy and has sparkle stripes along the design. Sunshine mothafucka, sunshine.

Fifth, Casshern..... uh... It was cool, not what I expected. Dreamt of epic fight movie, however it was EXTREMELY character driven and possessed the signature Japanese film essence of ending on a depressing and monotone note. Total arguable hidden issues and such.

Sixth, AVENGED SEVENFOLD STILL FUCKING ROCK!

Good night.

Van Halen Concert

November 27 marked the day of the Van Halen concert.

Fuck.

I went with my dad to watch a reunion tour of David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen at Arco Arena in Sacramento.

The concert hit you hard the moment it began and never stopped pounding your face in throughout the entire show. My dad was telling me how Roth was fired way back when cause he of his quote "LSD" [lead singer disease], but it was awesome to see that the two settle their long dispute and put on an amazing show. I dig the fact that Eddie cleaned himself from drug and alcohol issues lately in order to perform to his very best for the fans. He looks healthy and better than ever with a fresh buzz cut, and he can still kick ass on guitar like no other.

Highlights:
  • Roth and Van Halen playing buddy buddy on stage by constantly acknowledging to the fans of their settled disputes.
  • Drum solo was awesome, amazing drummer that is also an original member of the band.
  • Wolfgang Van Halen [Eddie's 16 yr. old son] on the bass.
    • The kid was real good.
    • Finger tap on the bass.
    • "Dualing" with his dad on stage
    • The fact that he looks like a normal kid that you could see walking down the street.
    • At first, I thought he looked like Andy Milanokis...lol.
  • ERUPTION!!!!! [finger tap orgy!]
  • Eddie constantly fucking the crowd up with his lead guitar solos.
The show ended on "Jump" as the encore.
Awesome night. Awesome concert. Awesome band.

Imma go now and spend 5 hours replicating a 1/10 of what Eddie Van Halen did...

M5 Concert

November 5, 2007 marked the day of the Maroon 5 concert

Headline: Maroon 5
Opening Acts: Phantom Planet & The Hives
Location: Arco Arena
Time: 7:30 [opening acts]

I went to the Maroon 5 concert with Jon and Erica, and since I drove last time to the JT concert at Arco, Erica took it upon herself to drive this time. We left super early and got to the arena super early. We basically chilled in the parking lot while bumping various tunes in the car for 2 hours. By the time we decided to leave the car we got inside the arena towards the end of Phantom Planet's opening act. A good act despite the fact I only knew one song: "California" [aka The OC song]. After that we stood in line to purchase some merchandise. I was hoping to find some cool t-shirt designs, however there were no creatively good and visually appealing Maroon 5 shirts. I then took the liberty of buying a $35 Hives t-shirt. Two words: bad ass.
Unfortunately I missed the whole Hives set due to standing in line, but they sounded great from what I heard.

The headliner began at 9:00 opening with "If I Never See Your Face Again" and following with "Makes Me Wonder." Impressive act with a great stage set-up and performance. Behind the 5-piece band was the huge "M" logo, complete with stunning light visual found in similar ways such as their "Makes Me Wonder" music video or Coldplay's "Speed of Sound" video, or Yellowcard's "Lights & Sounds" vid. Great musicians with great lyrical content, Princesque swagger, and a phenomenal live performance. Great lead guitar riffs were laid out constantly throughout the show. The show's encore included "Little of Your Time" followed by the smash hit "She Will Be Loved" and a parting with "Losing My Mind."

BEST PART OF PERFOMANCE: At the end of one of their songs from the latest album, they surprised the audience with a startling transition into The White Stripes' "Icky Thump" guitar riff. Fucking awesome. [The band is known for briefly covering songs at the end of their own songs]

Great show. Great band. Great night.

A7X

Avenged Sevenfold
"Avenged Sevenfold"
The best.

As of October 30, 2007, one of the best rock bands in the world has finally released they're 4th studio album entitled "Avenged Sevenfold." The self-titled, 10-track album is by far the band's most creative piece to date offering new and unfamiliar musical experiences for the listener while maintaining they're signature style and sound. The 5-piece band has further pushed their artistic boundaries by refusing to conform to what people assume they should sound like, and rather to produce material that sounds best to them regardless of what others think. From beginning to end, the album never lets up and proves to be worthwhile experience.

Track Listing:

1. Critical Acclaim
2. Almost Easy
3. Scream
4. Afterlife
5. Gunslinger
6. Unbound (The Wild Ride)
7. Brompton Cocktail
8. Lost
9. Little Piece of Heaven
10. Dear God

The album is by far one of the band's best pieces incorporating new and exciting elements while lyrically utilizing their very most personal feelings to date. Not a dull moment exists throughout the album's entirety with tracks ranging from heavy guitar oriented thrash riffs, melodic country driven sounds, dramatic string and choir arrangements, groovy drum lines, to even Nightmare Before Christmasesque cinematic story lines. The variety in sound is amazing, all of which apart from the "normal" A7X sound, but all still very hard and very heavy as the band's previous efforts. The band has the courage to explore new heights in order to do what they do best: make music. Such passion in music cannot be ignored.

The album is phenomenal.
The album is art.
The album is music.
The album is Avenged Sevenfold.

**procrastination**

**I should be doing my homework...**

Today I woke up by 12 and enjoyed two recorded episodes of Friday Night Lights [great show] while eating Yen King fried rice.

I then realized I must make a comparative speech for class tomorrow.

**Why blog, I should be doing my homework**

I then later lounged in my room brainstorming topics for the speech. I eventually listened to various jams on the iTunes including: Versailles, Common, Kanye, The Roots, A7X, B2k, Ciara, Usher, Chris Brown, Augustana, and the Gazette...

**Why am I writing all this, I should be doing my homework...**

Now I'm Lulzing in my mind cuz i'm thinking of that procrastination video that Pat showed me...

**Wait WTF? I should be doing my homework...**

Its now almost 8 pm, I think I'll actually start my speech after 8 hours of procrastination.... who am i kidding? I'll be done by 12 midnight...

**I should be doing my homework.... but after dinner...**

10-27-07

on saturday I met Greg at his house around 6 or 7.
got some mmm....mmm... tasty JAM-ba Juice. [Pineapple flava is bomb!]
Greg and I traversed through town after that and went to our local Borders to checkout the usual aisles that we always go to. Nothing new.

Eventually ended up at Greg's where I played Devil May Cry 3 and died 1184823838 times.....
Partick played the PSP while Grant and Mashell just chillaxed.

I think I shit my pants after hearing the new Versailles...
Think of all the epic motion picture tunes by composers such as John Williams and Hans Zimmer x11000000000000....... thats a shit load of epic. Its a shit load of epic just chillin' in your shorts.

I want a horse to ride on stage......

12:29 am..

just got back from seeing SAW IV.... but more importantly got to hear "I.V." by X-Japan. pretty coo in high quality.

the film was cool. i had a little confusion, but cleared it up. I recommend it to those who obviously enjoyed the previous films. the ending of course left you with the signature "wtf?" and "oh shit" and "when's the next one?"

the homies and I are just chillin' at this moment, listening to youtube quality "I.V." and about to play marshell's new xbox 360. we're also talking to Taylor whose in the process of making his blog...

i'm hungry........

I.V.

cool.... first blog.

based off of recent events, i have come to the conclusion that today is just like any other Friday night: fun.

Before getting to the better parts of my day, I would of course have to...

****Patrick just said some gay shit right now...... [I hate him so much.....]****

So I went to my college classes today [9am-12pm]
1) speech - had a surprisingly good laugh with the teacher and Adam
- listened to 3 speeches
- got to bail out of class early and sit in my car to "study"
2) english 1 - boring
- test.... test on a book about instilling worthless ideas into the minds of those yearning for freedom both mentally and creatively.. why should i memorize one's personal theory on writing? it only molds me and drives me away from
being creative (something schools encourage).... oh well. thats life.
3) history 17 (US. Hist) - another test!
- destroyed pt.2 of the quiz [written essay portion] wrote a killer BS.
essay about how Europe was finally able to explore and colonize the
New World in the late 14oos...
- got pt.1 of quiz back [scantron]: 14/30...... 60% according to him...

so as usual the classes were a bummer, but once through with it i kicked it with my homey P-
Whizzle [Partick] and chilled at his house and ate MickeyD's. Marshell showed up for awhile before he went to work. Greg showed up to and chilled.

Patrick, Greg, and I went to joann's and bought banndannies.... visited Marshell at work (hella awkward...lol) then ate at Foster Freeze. Had a plenty of good Lol's, mostly of Grant and his stupid shit. (for example: sorta arrested, fight in davis, graffitti, super v-cut shirt, and jousting with his new ostriches)

now... we're blogging.

tonight: Saw IV with the crew, minus Ri-CHARD.....and mike....and mike......and taylor.....and walter......

[at the end credits, gonna jam to X-Japan "I.V."!!!!!]

fuck yea, x-japan!
